How expert knowledge became a platform.
Summer 2025
white ip was already pairing its patent work with market analyses for clients, following a structured method that links a technology to its market through patent data. Nibiru Systems brought in its expertise in data processing, data pipelines and AI, and together the two companies set out to digitise that method.
Since early 2026
Nibiru Systems built the data and analysis pipelines behind mar:val and developed the method further together with white ip. In parallel came mar:ker, which brings patent attorney work into a digital workflow: Nibiru’s AI engineering combined with the practice of white ip’s patent attorneys, led by Leopold Gruner, who wants technology to move the profession forward.
Today
mar:val was first conceived for research institutes, for R&D and market reports that used to be delivered as static documents. Extensively validated, it now delivers them as interactive dashboards, with far more analysis than a document can hold.
Next
We are extending mar:val to due diligence, M&A, freedom to operate and other decisions that rest on market insight. Nibiru Systems is building the shared data foundation for both tools, from a connected patent database and its own analysis pipelines. mar:ker gains from it as well, in novelty, state-of-the-art and patentability analyses.
